Commercial Solar

In the last decade, SALT has used its extensive expertise in larger energy systems to install and maintain solar electric (photovoltaic or PV) systems, solar lighting, and Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations for residential and commercial clients throughout the Keys, S. Florida and the Caribbean.

From Key West to Key Largo, the Bahamas and other Caribbean islands, SALT has installed more than 100 solar-based systems, including the largest residential and commercial grid-tied PV systems in the Keys and the largest residential in South Florida.

Commercial clients have included KEYS Energy, Dolphin Research Center, Islander Resort, Stock Island Marina Village, Mote Marine Lab, Plantation Key School, and Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District.  Our installation on Historic Pigeon Key, a 24-kW off-grid, battery-backup with generator interface system, required additional logistics for delivering the large equipment to the water-only access island.  We are currently completing a 1.5 MW ground-mount solar installation with 2 MWh battery storage micro-grid system on a cruise ship island in the Bahamas. Our most recent Bahamas installation is a 400kW solar with 1.25MWh storage system for Bahamas Power and Light Utility on Ragged Island.

Our Caribbean projects have included a 292 kW rooftop solar installation for the Government of Montserrat; commissioning a 117-kW solar system on a US-military base on the island of Curacao. Our Installations have expanded to the South Florida mainland as well, including a 63 kW system on a law firm roof in West Palm Beach and a 64 kW residential AC system on Biscayne Bay. The owner of this home was so pleased that he also contracted us for a 529 kW system on his commercial warehouse roof in Doral.
